Belated happy turkey day

Happy Thanksgiving! One day late. :p I had a pretty good Thanksgiving. I was sick with a sore throat all day Wednesday, but I was better yesterday, so the plans were still on. :D We went to my grandma's house first. Ret came too, but by the time we got there it was getting muddy, so he had to be tied up in the barn. He did get some turkey skin though, and he did get to chase the 6 turkeys on my grandma's property (she thinks someone dumped them).

Anyway, dinner was delicious, as usual. Gelled fruit salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, turkey, rolls with blackberry apple jam (my favorite!), stuffing... The works. :p It was all fantastic! Then of course, pie! My favorite kind.... Cream pie! Just a plain cream pie. I ate 1/3 of it... :p It was so good!

After that dinner, we hung around, looked at after Thanksgiving sale ads, and chatted for a while, then we had to go. We went home, looked at ads some more, then my mom and me left for Rick's house. We listened to Christmas music on the way over.... It was great!

When we got to Rick's, we pretty much immediately went over to his mom's, a short walk away (same apartment complex). She was making dinner for us... What I call Dinner #2. Veal scaloppini, mashed potatoes, garlic bread.... Yum! I wasn't able to eat much though.... Not after that 1/3 of a pie! She also made cake, but I got that to go. ;) No way I was going to eat anymore without throwing up. She sent 1/4 of the cake with us.

We went back to Rick's apartment after that. My mom planned to hit some early sales, so we spent the night. We watched Harry Potter 2, then we all went to bed. My mom and me were on the couches, of course. I was able to get online for a bit before bed, thanks to an unencrypted wireless connection.

That was my Thanksgiving. My mom hit some sales this morning, and I stayed at Rick's to get more sleep. She picked me up afterwards, and we ate most of that cake.... Delicious! Anyway, I know what one of my Christmas presents is now, but that's OK... ;) I kind of knew all along anyway. It just helped that we found a great deal on it, so my mom got it. :D

Beaver!

Well, on Monday I sent in my application to OSU! YAY! I got amazing SAT Subject test scores (no idea how... I thought I did terrible. Good guesser, I suppose... ;)), so I just plugged those in and sent it off. They still need my transcripts.... But those wont be sent until after this term. Which is fine.... But anyway, just wanted to say that. Oh yeah. Something funny about my app. So they have this insight resume... It's six questions to answer in 100 words each. About community service, leadership, etc. so I do the first two, my mom helps edit, and just by coincidence they're both exactly 100 words. I'm sure it would have been OK if I was short a few words, but they just happened to be 100 words exactly. So I decided all of them should be exactly 100 words... :p And I did it! The scholarship app had 2 100 word questions, and those had exactly 100 words also. It was silly, but amusing. For me...

Put this off.... Part 2

Here's another one I wrote on the 18th:

THAT WAS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

We're now leaving NWCC. Matthew was terrific! I met Earl The Girl before the show, while the bus was smoking. They are having trouble with both buses. But it's all OK now, and I met Earl in the process. :) It's good.

So guess what seats we got.... Front and center! We were the first in, of course. I also bought a History Maker shirt. It's cool. :) But my custom shirt is cooler. Matt said he really liked it. Hopefully pictures taken by Matt's brother will be included later. Paul was funny, Shawn was awesome, but I think I'd have more fun if there wasn't the eagerness to see Matt. I was a little worried, because Matt was with a couple of local boys, and most people came for Paul or Shawn. I'm pretty sure most people didn't know who he even was, and that worried me. He won some new Westies though. He was AMAZING! Great choices of songs..... Lots of fun. He got a fairly dull crowd (sat through the first two) up on their feet! He sang a hilarious song about Eugene, involving a lot of Burrito Boy references (Paul Wright has a song about Burrito Boy, a Mexican restaurant in Eugene). It was great. It was SOOO cute when he brought Emily and Earl out. I was holding up my "Westies love Earl the Girl" sign, and Emily pointed at me. The way Matt was talking to Earl was adorable. And then the big news..... It's a girl!!!!!! That's right. The West's little one is a girl! After that Matt sang The Day Before You, and at the end they showed the ultrasound. MAJOR awwww moment! Matt totally rocked. I was really getting into it, and every now and then he'd look at me and point. It was fun. He sang Out Of My Hands, and on the screens they had Hurricane Katrina pictures.... Wow. And then, of course, he ended with Out Of Time.

After the concert, my mom took a couple pictures of me on stage. That was cool. Of course by then the band was out.... But it was still cool. Then we went out to the lobby to wait for a turn to talk to Matt. We waited a while so we'd have more time. We talked to Emily beforehand. My mom made a list of things NOT to name their daughter... It included "Sal the Gal", "Brady the Lady", "Vic the Chic", and some others. She laughed, and told us the planned name..... Luella Jane West. Luella is Matt's grandma, and Jane is Emily's. We talked to her a bit, then went over to wait to talk to Matt. He told me he thought my shirt is awesome, and commented about me being a Westie. I answered that I'm a mod, Pikados. "You're Pikados??? It's great to finally meet you!" he answered, and gave me a hug. Then he signed my copy of History, my iPod skin, and my shirt, and my mom took a couple pictures. He asked his brother to come take a picture of my shirt, so I think it might go up on the site. He took a picture of the front and back, then Matt came up and said to have a picture with him too, so we got one of those too. So now I may have a few pictures on the site. :) He also told me I wouldn't have to beg to get him back in Oregon. Then I showed him my copy of Every Step, and he seemed surprised. He asked if I wanted that signed too, and I told him it already was... To USF. Then I explained that I decided it meant Ultra Super Fan, and he said "Yeah. That's for you.", but he also signed it again. I told him I was trying to hunt down a copy of September Sun, and he said that I probably wont find one unless I go in his garage. "Is that an invitation?" my mom asked. Then I told him about operation MWM (probably only Jacqueline will get this... :p), and he laughed and said we should do it. My mom told him to have fun in Bend, and I said we'd go if my mom didn't have to work... Then I said if they gave me a ride I could go. He said they wouldn't have room with Earl. Earl takes up too much space. We talked for a few more minutes, then he shook my hand, said it was great to met me, and we left. Oh yeah! I also asked him about They Danced Alone, and he said I could put it on my website. :)

Next quest... A place for food. While driving around we happened to pass... BURRITO BOY! So, of course, we had to go. Unfortunately, we drove past and got lost. It took a while to find again, but we did, and since it's 24 hours, we got dinner. My mom took a picture of me by the sign, then we left. Burrito Boy is GOOD! No wonder Paul wrote a song about it... :p Anyway, we ate our burritos as we drove home. Well, we're still driving home..... Anyway, it was amazing. I'm looking forwards to posting this in my blog later, and updating the Westies. Now to update my iPod with the pictures.... :)

For some reason I totally put this off

I wrote this on September 18... for some reason haven't gotten around to putting it up:

Hey! I'm writing this in text edit right now, to put in my bolg later. I'm sitting here at NWCC, Northwest Christian College. It's 3:45 PM. Doors open at 5:30 for the Matthew West concert. We're the first ones here. A few other people are showing up now. They asked us if the concert is sold out, and we just found out it isn't. One of the guys is gonna come wait with us. It's fun. It's the perfect weather for hanging out outside, we have shade from the building, and we have our camp chairs with us. :) It's cool. I'm gonna work on the SEP summer bridge movie for a while, then hopefully we'll get to go in. I'll check in later! :)
